Artist Statement

The hand and the eye have knowledge of which our logic and language are ignorant. We watch, we see, our hands remember and interpret. We cannot predict the results and we may not like them. I try to embrace the accidental and the accidents in drawing, printmaking, and painting. Restless, like a magpie I steal from whatever glitters in my surroundings: cartoons, master drawings, the light on a face or a field. Afterwards memory, impulse, and process guide my hand.
